Painted Kitchen units
The pictures on this page show some kitchen units that we built to be painted. The main carcus of the unit is made from North American Poplar (Tulip Wood) this timber is very straight grained and is particularly suited to a paint finish.The slats under the units are from staemed beech sealed and laquered. the drawer boxes are also made from beech with two coats sanding seale.The tops of the units are from polsihed black granite. The row of six small Drwaers are on a very simple type of drawer runner as the client wanted to be able to remove these drawers very easily. The other larger drawers are all on soft self closing runers.
Several months after the first kitchen units were fitted we built another tall cupboard unit which had to fit around an existing brick pier.
